Ask us at the estimate. Adding a bathroom in a basement, an attic or an addition means new plumbing tied into the main stack, and whether it makes sense depends entirely on the house.

Yes. Plumbing and electrical work is part of the project, done by Massachusetts-licensed tradespeople under permit, and it is covered by our lifetime workmanship warranty.

Every bathroom is different. Square footage, plumbing relocation, tile selection, fixture tier, permit requirements, structural condition — there's no honest way to price a bathroom sight-unseen. We walk every project and quote firmly in 48 hours.

Things we can't see. Rotted subfloor under a cast iron tub, knob-and-tube wiring behind drywall, failed cast iron waste lines. We call these out in writing before doing the work — no surprise bills.

Ask at the estimate. You get the fixed written price first, so you know the full number, and then we can talk through how you plan to pay: cash, a home equity line or a loan you arrange yourself. Our financing page covers the usual options.

Your contract sets out the deposit and each progress payment before any work starts. Massachusetts law caps a home improvement deposit at one-third of the contract price.

Yes, if you have a second bathroom. If this is your only bathroom, we recommend a short hotel stay during the 5–7 days of no-water work. Most clients stay home — we set up dust containment and work clean.

Crew works Monday–Friday, occasionally Saturday for critical deadlines. No Sunday work. Quiet hours 7am–5pm to respect your neighbors.

We do, as a registered Massachusetts home improvement contractor (Massachusetts HIC #211749). We file, coordinate inspections, and close out the permit. You never go to the building department.

Yes. Every Massachusetts city and town runs its own building department, so fees, turnaround and inspection scheduling vary. North Grafton and South Grafton are villages of Grafton, for example, so their permits go through Grafton's building department. We handle the filing in every town we cover.

Common in older Massachusetts homes. We can often permit the new work without auditing the old, depending on scope. If the inspector flags legacy work, we address it before final. Discuss at the estimate.

Cement board + Redgard works. But Schluter is a complete system — substrate + membrane + drain + trim all engineered to work together, with fewer failure points. That is why we use it on every shower.

Yes — we'll take you to our supplier (or you can source your own). We give you samples at the estimate and walk you through what installs well and what doesn't. Marble is high maintenance. Large-format porcelain is the modern default.

Moen, Kohler, Delta, Grohe, Hansgrohe, Dornbracht — whatever tier you want. Mid-range defaults are Moen and Kohler. Premium is Grohe and Hansgrohe. Luxury is Dornbracht.

Yes. 12x24, 24x24, 24x48, and larger. Large-format reduces grout lines (easier to clean) and makes small spaces feel larger. Requires flat substrate — we use a self-leveling compound and Schluter Ditra for the flattest possible base.

Yes. Antique colonials, postwar capes and ranches, mid-century split-levels and newer builds all get a bathroom that suits the house rather than one that fights it.

Every project is backed by a lifetime workmanship warranty. If the workmanship on your bathroom turns out to be defective, it is repaired or replaced at no additional cost, for the lifetime of the structure. It covers the installation work we do, including tile, grout and waterproofing, and the plumbing and electrical done during the project. It applies to the original homeowner and is not transferable. Normal wear and tear, acts of nature or other external forces, and modifications or repairs made by anyone else. If something goes wrong, call us first rather than having someone else open it up. Claims should be made within 30 days of noticing the defect, and we inspect and verify it before authorizing the repair.
